Camdeboo National Park

16th April 2017
Camdeboo National park is situated right next door to the town of Graaf Reinet , there is a smaller section of the park dedicated to game viewing with 24 km’s of gravel road, here you can drive around and see a wide variety of plains game such as Black wildebeest, Springbok, Kudu, Eland, Gemsbok, Red Hartebeest and many more.

It is also a good place to see the Karoo Korhaan and we were fortunate enough to see a number of different birds calling in the morning. The Campsite was good for photographing some of the smaller birds that occur in the area.

You can also leave the game viewing section and head off to Desolation Valley, a beautiful spot on top of the mountain with a spectacular view of the valley below, unfortunately during our visit the weather was not ideal and we had very little sunshine but we still managed to get some good images of Wildlife and the great views. We also had a great view of a Rufous eared Warbler.

It is a ideal stopover if you are travelling in the area and well worth a quick visit.
