Benguerra Island

04th March 2018
My wife and I recently spent some time at andBeyonds Benguerra Island Lodge in the Bazaruto Archpeligo just off the coast of Mozambique, now normally I prefer Bush holidays and going to the Island was mainly a treat for my Wife, after 5 wonderful days on Benguerra I must admit that I have greatly changed my opinion and it was hard to leave !

There is a lot to do at Benguerra and we tried most things with the exception of diving and deep sea fishing, by far our favorite activity was the snorkeling, the beautiful reefs and colorful fish are spectacular.

Each day was different to the last and we did a variety of activities including snorkeling, swimming, sea kayaking, the Cast away picnic , a Island drive, birdwatching and Horse riding, a Highlight for me was to see my first ever Dugong, what a treat.

There is also a lot to photograph on Benguerra, beautiful sunsets and Landscapes, Hermit crabs, Tsonga Red Squirrels, birds and on the island drive its a great opportunity to see the Diminutive Suni Antelope.

Our Butler Sergio was amazing and great fun, the meals were really good and who can argue with a beach dinner under a Billion stars !
